Your shitty first draft

It’s OK. We all write a ‘shitty first draft’ (Anne Lamott, author of Bird by Bird).
It is very rare that the first draft is amazing and barely needs changes.
So don’t expect a perfect first draft.
Expect a shitty one.
It will make you feel a whole lot better when, at the editing stage, you read quite a few very good paragraphs and sentences, or maybe even pages, and think, ‘Oh, it’s not that shitty!’ 😊
